About Us

Chesham & District Amateur Radio Society (CDARS) is based in the town of Chesham in the county of Buckinghamshire about 45km north west of London.  Our members live in a wide area around Chesham including Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted, Amersham, Great Missenden, Tring and High Wycombe.

We hold two club callsigns:

G1MDG & G3MDG

We are affiliated with the RSGB, are a registered exam centre, and are accredited in the RSGB’s Beyond Exams programme. Our recently updated constitution can be seen HERE.

We have radio equipment for HF & VHF SSB, CW & Data communications. We have recently moved our club meeting venue to Ashley Green Memorial Hall (see the Club Meetings page), where we hope to establish a station in the rural surroundings.

We are active at portable in events during the year, and run a regular station at Brill Windmill as part of the Mills on the Air event.

We publish a newsletter which is emailed to members, and can be downloaded on the CDARS Newsletters page.
