About Us

Chesham & District Amateur Radio Society (CDARS) is based in the town of Chesham in the county of Buckinghamshire about 45km north west of London.  Our members live in a wide area around Chesham including Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted, Amersham, Great Missenden, Tring and High Wycombe.

We hold two club callsigns:

We are affiliated with the RSGB.  We have radio equipment for HF & VHF SSB, CW & Packet / Data communications. We formerly had a radio shack at The White Hill Centre (where we used to meet) but we lost this facility with the establishment of the local radio station, Chiltern Voice. However with the move of club meeting venue (see the Club Meetings page) we hope to establish a station in the less urban surroundings of Ashley Green.

We are also active at portable in events during the year, and run a regular station at Brill Windmill as part of the Mills on the Air event.

We publish a newsletter which is emailed to members, and can be downloaded on the CDARS Newsletters page.
